Our Hobart campus is equipped with the most relevant and essential print books for loans. We are constantly updating and adding to our collection to ensure our resources meet your needs.

Borrowing Books

To borrow print books, you may approach the Reception with the following information: 

  • Your full name
  • Student ID
  • Details of the book(s) you want to borrow such as book titles, authors, editions

Additionally, an email may also be sent to the Academic Administration Coordinator at as.tas@imc.edu.au. As soon as the book is available for collection, you will be notified via email. The staff will notify you when and where to collect the book. If you live away from campus and the time is not convenient, let our staff know and they will adjust the date and time for collection.

Accessing Online Databases

The Library has the most up-to-date, relevant and essential Online Databases. We hope you will make full use of them. To access them, use your Microsoft email details to login.

  • ABI/INFORM - collection of thousands of full-text journals and dissertations, working papers, key business  and economic periodicals
  • Business Management Collection (Henry Stewart Talks), a suite of online lectures and case studies by leading experts from renowned universities and organisations on commerce, industry and academia from around the world

Online Workshops

To polish your academic skills, the Library has various online workshops that meet your needs. They include the highly popular and in-demand Database Search Workshop that will guide you through how to search in the relevant and essential online databases and journals.

The other important workshop is Conducting Research, a one-stop shop to your research needs. This workshop teaches you research using appropriate, current, trustworthy and relevant resources. It guides you through using subject-specific databases, online videos and lectures, e-books, journal articles, learning tips and study advice.

Library workshops focus on learning strategies, time management, analysing assignment questions, note-taking, referencing, essay and report writing, giving presentations and much more.

If you are keen on career development and success, workshops on Complex Problem Solving, Creativity and Critical Thinking will be highly valuable.
